It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne Dorothy (MacPherson), retired nurse and artist on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in her 82nd year.
Dorothy lived in Peterborough and was born in Big Pond, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; her parents, the late William and Annie (Gillis) MacPherson and brothers, William and Hector and sisters, Eunice and Margaret and two brothers in infancy, Gerge Joseph and Duncan Joseph.
She is survived by her brother, Daniel Joseph (Beth) MacPherson of Big Pond Center and two sisters, Sister George Marie C.S.M. Bethany, Antigonish, and Marie MacEachen, Sydney, Nova Scotia. She will always be loved and sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and all who knew her.
A memorial mass will take place at St. Mary's Church in Big Pond Centre on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at 11 a.m., Fr. Will MacPherson officiating. Interment will take place at Big Pond Cemetery, Nova Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association or Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit and can be made through Duffus Funeral Directors, Peterborough, Ont. (705)-745-4612.
