1920 - 2011 - Miramichi - Bertha Elva Harris, wife of John Harris, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Glenwood, passed away at her residence, on Friday morning, January 21, 2011, at the age of 90.
Born in Upper Napan, on December 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Jane (Creighton) Jardine.She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a member of the Pioneer Senior Citizens Club, Miramichi. She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Ruth Guyder (Oliver), of Miramichi, June Harris (Clarence), of Glenwood, Wanda MacDonald (Dean), of South Black River Road; two sons, Eugene Harris (Carolyn), of Simco, Ont., Benson Harris (Ginny), of Waterford, Ont.; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters, Dorothy MacDonald, Ruth Smith, Pearl Romaine, Beatrice Lobban, Mary Green, Inez Trevors; four brothers, Arthur, James, David, William Jardine.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Sunday, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Wellington St., Miramichi, on Monday, January 24, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring.
