PETER ALLEN
Passed on: January 19th, 2011
It is with extreme sadness that the family of Peter Gent Allen announces his sudden passing on January 19, 2011. Peter was born and raised in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He was well known in his home province as a good athlete during High School, while also excelling in music. He had his own radio show and orchestra which were enjoyed by a wide cross section of followers throughout the Annapolis-Cornwallis Valley. His love of music and desire to play the piano eventually brought him to The Pas, Manitoba where he met and married his loving wife, Anne, in 1968. After moving to Moose Jaw in 1976 Peter continued his love of music by enchanting the community with his one-of-a-¬kind talent, winning the hearts of all who met and knew him. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather and will be missed greatly. Peter will be remembered by his wife, Anne, of 42 years, his sons Shaun (Penny), and Parres; his daughters Amy, Lana (Preston); and his many grandchildren Grayson, Conor, Megan, Mitchell, Brayden, Taylor, and Liam; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is survived by his brothers Edwin (Edna), Bob (Muriel); sisters Thelma, Josephine (Bruce), Lila (Sandy), Patricia (Peter), and predeceased by his parents Elmer and Leah, sister Mary, and brother William. The Celebration of Peter's life will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1010 Main St. N., on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at 1:30 pm. Pastor Barry Gammie will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8, would be appreciated.
