After a lengthy illness, the death of Rev. Gordon Beverly Lewis, age 72, husband of Della (Bond) Lewis of Quispamsis, NB, occurred at Bobby's Hope House, Saint John, NB, on February 2, 2011. He was born on August 19, 1938, in Sussex, the son of the late Harry and Edith (Dyer) Lewis. Gordie is survived by his wife Della; brother Rev. James and Ferne (Nickerson) Lewis of Rusagonis; sister Jean and Rev. Bruce Boyd of Midland; brothers-in-law Gordon, Lloyd and Marilyn and Dwight and Janet Bond; sisters-in-law Mildred and Wes Miller, Donna and Murray Nutter, Cheryl Court and Zonya and Brad Russell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Beatrice and brothers-in-law Donnie, Stewart and Daryl.
He is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Sunday from 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Gordie's life, conducted by Rev. Terry Kennedy, will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. from Outreach Pentecostal Church, Hatfield Point, NB. Interment will take place in Bayview Cemetery at a later date.
