It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Morrison, 69, of Donkin Highway. Ellen passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, Ellen was the daughter of the late George and Maude Yates.
Some of her pastimes were knitting on canvas, watching television and movies. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Ellen is survived by her daughters, Michele (Brian Graham), Tower Road, Tanya (Glen Campbell), Donkin; sons, Brent (Elaine), Mira, Bradley, Glace Bay, and Kyle, Donkin Highway; sister, Emily MacDonald, Port Hawkesbury; cherished grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Mathew, Megan, G.T., Shania, Travis, Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily; and her cat, Sarah.
Besides her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her husband, George Morrison, daughter, Kimberley, sisters, Molly, Betty and Shirley.
In honoring Ellen’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
