Ronald McKay
Ronald B. "Dipper" McKay, 82 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Bertrum and Winnifred (McCully) McKay.
Ronald worked at Canada Car during WWII and after the war until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Poplar Manor. He liked to go out to Tim Horton's for a cup of coffee with his nephew. He will always be remembered as "Dipper" by his many friends.
Ronald will be sadly missed by his sister, Mildred Nixon of Amherst; special nephew, Richard of Amherst; great nephew James of Amherst; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Carl, Kenneth "Teddy"; sisters, Lena Blakney, Isabella "Isabelle" McKay.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 667-8777 (70 Church St. Amherst, NS). No visitation or funeral service by request. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring.
