Gallant
The death occurred peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, with his loving family at his side, on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, of Abel Gallant, of Summerside, aged 85 years. Born in Mont Carmel, he was the son of the late Laurent and Gladys (Gallant) Gallant. Survived by his daughters Rita (Alphonse) Arsenault, Urbainville; Erma (Leo) Gallant, Mont Carmel; Claudette (Melvin) Gallant, Mont Carmel; Simone, Phyllis and Yvonne, all of Summerside; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Margaret Richard and Edna Arsenault; brothers-in-law Ben Sonier, Albert Richard and Antoine (Denise) Richard; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Mary (Richard) Gallant; granddaughter Cindy Gallant; and by a sister Annie Sonier. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. Completed funeral arrangements and visiting hours to be announced later. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
