Sr. Theresa Matthews of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul died peacefully on February 19, 2011 at Providence Motherhouse, Kingston, Ontario in the 49th year of her religious life. Born in Toronto, Ontario on June 16, 1930, Sister Theresa is predeceased by her parents, Florence Casey and Charles Patrick Matthews and her brother, Victor. She is survived by her brothers, Rev. Carl Matthews, SJ of Toronto, Paul (Pat) of Toronto and Michael (Jan) of Ottawa; her sister, Ursula (Denis) O'Connor of Toronto, Ontario and her sister-in-law, Barbara Matthews of Inverary, Ontario. She will be fondly remembered by her family, her many nieces, nephews and cousins and by the members of her religious congregation. The Vigil Service took place at 7:00 p.m. on February 21. Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Chapel of Mary Mother of Compassion, Providence Motherhouse on February 22, 2011. Rite of Committal St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
