Welesley Crossman

The death of Welesley Crossman, age 81, of Amherst, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, February 27, 2011 with his family by his side.
Born in Brookville, NS, he was a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Boutilier) Crossman.
A parts man, Welesley worked for 33 years with Cumberland Equipment, Bill Casey and Tantramar Motors while operating the Fina/Petro Canada oil delivery service in Amherst. For 14 years he operated Crossman Service Centre on Church Street. He was a member of the Cumberland Car Club and enjoyed showing his 1951 Kaiser. A fiddler he loved music and attended many music shows. A model boat builder he donated ship models to the "Age of Sail". He enjoyed a game of "45's".
Welesley will be sadly missed by his wife of 12 years Mary Elizabeth (Wesley), Amherst; a brother, Leonard (Marjorie), Diligent River, NS; a step-son, Maxwell (Dorothy) Ross, Fraserville, NS; step daughter-in-law, Winifred Ross, Surrey, BC and grandchildren, Wilfred (Marion) Ross, Kingston, NS, Cheryl (Bill) Sorensen, Surrey, BC, Mackie(Sandra) Ross, Fraserville, NS, Kevin (Valerie) Ross, Windstor, NS; several great grandchildren and nephews and nieces, Robert (Lisa) Crossman, Lorrie (Michael) Weir, Arden (Camilla) Crossman and Marcella (Marshall) Cole.
He was predeceaed by his first wife Helen (Welch) in 1995, brothers, Leslie and Everett a sister Viola and a step-son Walter Ross,.
Welesley's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (902.667.8777) from where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2 pm. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm. Burial in the Westbrook Cemetery in the spring.
