Annie Mae Pope

Pope, Annie Mae – 90, Tatamagouche, died Friday, February 25, 2011 in Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche. Born in Kemptown, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Barbara (MacKenzie) Marshall. She cooked in logging camps and nursing homes for many years. She especially loved watching her flowers and garden grow. She was well known for her good cup of tea and no one left without one. She is survived by her children, Carol Morrison, Halifax; Pauline (Ray) Fix, Edmonton; Jack (Brenda), Balfron; Billy (Judy), Caribou; Barb (Fred) Rose, Greenfield; Isabel (Neil), Bible Hill. Grandchildren, Vanessa King, Vancouver; Sherry (Ritchie) Allen, Amherst; Danny Pope, Caribou; Alison (Craig) Hayman, Cathy (David) Shortt, Peter (Erin) Pope, all of Tatamagouche; Five great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Stewart, Bible Hill. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Pope and second husband William Pope; son, Donald; a child in infancy; grandchildren, Grant King, Jason Pope and Alisa Veno; brothers, Duncan, Alexander, Burton, Percy, George, Vernon, Chester, Stan, Douglas; sisters, Violet Crowe, Pearl McCoul, Mary Stewart and Belle Murdock. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, February 26, and funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 27, both in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Earltown Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Willow Lodge Home for Special Care.
