The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, February 28, 2011, of Desmond Louis Callaghan of Emyvale, age 74 years.
Beloved husband of Bernice (nee McGuirk) and loving father of Shawn (Sheila), Kent, Darlene Van Hul (Luc), Laurie MacRae (Trevor) and Karla (Matt Morford). Cherished grampy to Emily, Riley and Mitchell Callaghan, Logan and Olivia Van Hul and Madeline MacRae. Also survived by his sisters, Geraldine Callaghan, Charlottetown and Blanche McKenna (Glenn), Clyde River.
Precedeased by his parents, Matthias and Agnes (nee MacKinnon) Callaghan, and infant sister Edna.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, then to St. Anne’s Church, Emyvale, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
