Jim Betts

Jim Betts, 62, of Moncton passed away peacefully on March 3, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital with his two loving sons by his side. Jim was born in Riverside, Albert Co., NB on February 6, 1949 the son of the late Laurie and Dorothy "Betty" (Wilson) Betts. He was a member of the St. Phillip's Anglican Church. Jim was a manager at NAV Canada and had over 30 years of service before retiring. He was a member of the Coverdale Masonic Lodge # 52. Jim especially enjoyed motorcycling, and was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and the Moncton Motorcycle Touring Club. Jim was a thoughtful, caring and generous family-man who always had a smile for everyone. He will be remembered for his caring ways and for his great sense of humour. He truly loved his family and would have done anything for them. He was a very proud father and grandfather.

He will be deeply missed by his two treasured sons, Brent Betts (Suzanne) of Halifax and Brice Betts (Tammy) of Weldon and by his precious grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Alexis and Camden; brothers, Douglas Betts (Betty) of Moncton, Laurie Jr. Betts ( Judy) of Riverview and Ronald Betts of Moncton. He will also be missed by several aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Curtis.
Honoring Jim's own wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8th at 2:30pm with Archdeacon R.B. Stockall officiating. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Children's Wish Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
