It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our courageous daughter, mother, grandmother and friend, Linda Gaudet at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
Linda was the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn (Gallivan) Ball, Sydney, and the late Lloyd Ball.
Linda will always be remembered for her amazing strength, strong faith, determination and positive attitude and the ability to make others laugh. Linda enjoyed her many years spent working with the public and making friends at Bens Bakery and became a familiar face to numerous people throughout the community.
Linda will be forever missed and cherished by her mother, Evelyn Ball-Holt (Malcolm); her son, David Gaudet (Shawna); and her daughter, Angela Gaudet. She will always be loved by her grandsons, Noah and Cohen Gaudet and Robert and Nicholas Barrett. Linda will always be missed by her extended family, Bill Barrett (Mary-Tanya), Dianna Marie MacDonald (Vincent), Shirley MacPhail (Clarence) and Kenny Barrett (Nellie). Linda leaves behind close friends, Bernadette Gillis (Gerard), Margie Wall, Glen Lahey (Melanie), Pat Morrison (Ralph), John and Delores MacCormick .
Besides her father, Linda was predeceased by her loving partner and best friend, William ‘Billy’ Barrett as well as several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses who have cared for Linda over the past several years. Special thanks to Dr. Greg Myatt, nurse Janice Black, and palliative care staff, Dr.D’Intino and Dr. Ritter; as well as the rest of their staff and VON who have been exceptionally wonderful and caring to Linda. We would also like to thank the staff of 4C of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Linda’s special roommate Helen Chisholm for making her stay more comforting.
There will be no visitation upon request. Private burial for immediate family will take place at a later date.
