Loyal Reynolds

Loyal Milton Reynolds 80 years of Springhill, passed away peacefully in his chair surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his residence. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late William and Philena (Mills) Reynolds.
Loyal started working in the woods at the early age of 12. At the age of 16 he started working for Nova Scotia Light and Power as a lineman and became Supervisor until his retirement in 1986 after 38 faithful years. As well, in his younger years, he enjoyed working for Capital Theatre as a projector operator and also helped his son for many years maintain the Lamp Cabin Beverage Room. After his retirement he was a hobby farmer with cattle and blueberries. He also volunteered for minor hockey and played slow pitch softball. He was an avid "Yankees fan". He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias # 5 for 42 years. The joy of his life was his family, he loved having his grandchildren and great grandchildren around, they were the apple of his eye. "Gramp" as he was affectionately known will be sadly missed by all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years the former Olive Tabor; children, Robert "Bob" (Mary) and Barbara (Alan) Tupper both of Amherst, Bonnie (Robert) McNeil and Ronald "Ronnie" (Cathy) both of Springhill; 15 grandchildren, Mark, Laura, Lesley, Andy, Holly, Peter, Matthew, Bethany, David, Jodi, Krista, Tracy, Mandy, Michelle, Ryan and 2 step grandchildren, Travis and Jessica; 21 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; brother, James (Marilyn) of Springhill and sisters, Leota Cooper, Springhill and Margaret (Bill) Brown of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson Ronald (little Ronnie); brothers, William and Murray.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am to-day, March 11, 2011 from Springhill Baptist Church, 47 Church Street, Springhill, with Pastor Jamey Grooms officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date.
