Ronald David Miller of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on March 4, 2011 at the age of 59 years. He was born in Gravelbourg, SK on August 12, 1951 to George and Olga Miller of Glen Bain, SK. He grew up on a farm in the Glen Bain district. Ron farmed and loved working with his cattle. On April 9, 1977 Ron married the love of his life, Florence Peters. They resided in the Glen Bain district. Their marriage was blessed with 3 girls, Bobbie Jo, Sheila, and Bonnie and one boy, Wayne. Ron had a very strong passion for sports. He played fastball with the Glen Bain Tramps, coached the Glen Bain Angels, followed his kids in Track and Field and Football and watched every sporting event on T.V. Ron enjoyed hunting and then making sausage. Ron served as an active counselor for the R.M. of Glen Bain 105 from 1987-2006. He also was a dedicated school bus driver for Wood River School district. Ron was predeceased by his wife, Florence (1988), his parents George (1996) and Olga (nee Deg) (2005) Miller, his father-in-law Jacob Peters (1993), and his great nephew Scott (1999). Ron will be greatly missed by his daughter Bobbie Jo (Tim Ulm) granddaughters Hannah and Paige; daughter Sheila (Ryan) Brotheridge granddaughter Alyssa and expected baby; daughter Bonnie; and son Wayne. His brothers Randy (Shirley); Bernie; and Terry (Linda) and his sister Joyce. Mother-in-law Eva Peters, sisters-in-law, Bernice (Randy) Lincoln; Ruby (Scott) Brown; Grace (Todd) Thauberger and brothers-in-law, Albert (Stacey) Peters and Nelson (Elizabeth) Peters. All his aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, relatives, and friends. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Glen Bain, SK, with Pastor Kristin Soveran officiant. Eulogy was shared by Randy Miller. Organist was Lisa Kornfeld. Honorary pallbearers were the “Glen Bain Angels.” Active pallbearers were David Miller, Ross Turnbull, Brad Brown, Dale Blohm, Daryl Uhrich and Jerry Scheller. Interment took place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial tributes in memory of Ron to St. Boswell Trinity Lutheran Church, Box 604, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0 and Sandra Schmirler Foundation, 1660 Vimont Court, Cumberland, ON K4A 4J4 were greatly appreciated.
