Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Rita King, aged 97 years, resident of Ruby Manor, Mt. Pearl, formerly of Long Harbour, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by her husband James in 1992, brother James, and sisters Ellen and Mary. Leaving to mourn her daughters: Bridget (Alfred) Daly, Marguerite (Sean) Rumboldt, Ella (Wayne) Luffman; sons: William King, Dermot King, James (Audra) King, Brendan (Jane) King; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will take place at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Cabot Avenue, Whitbourne on Friday, March 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Long Harbour. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery and refreshments at the parish hall following burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita’s memory to a charitable organization of your choice.
