Mildred Perry

Mildred Alice Perry, 94, of Riverview went to be with her Lord on March 19, 2011, at the Moncton Hospital. Born May 1, 1916, on Canaan Road, Havelock, she was the daughter of the late Mont and Mottie (Carson) Thorne. Mildred will be dearly missed by her loving family, her son, Locke Perry (Janet) of Woodstock, daughters: Vera Turner (Bill) of Hillsborough, Lois Reid of Calgary, Delores McDonald (Eric) of Moncton, and Charlene Woodworth (Dennis) of Hillsborough, daughter-in-law, Jean Perry, son-in-law, Jack Barliak, 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Ryder of Moncton, brother, Bud Thorne (Shirley) of Moncton, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Conn, daughter, Joan Barliak, son, Royce, grandson, Lloyd Rouse, sister, Irene Frise (Bill), brother, Leo Thorne (Freda), and brother-in-law, Lorne Ryder. Mildred loved the Lord and had great faith in prayer and in the power of His Word, and often spoke of the goodness of God’s faithfulness to her. She has left a lasting footprint on the hearts of her family and the many friends who loved her and were devoted to her in so many ways. Mildred’s love for people shown by always putting the needs of others before her own, best describes the nature of this very dear and special lady. Among the many things she will be remembered for are her home made donuts, her love of entertaining family and friends in her home, and her cherished guest book that contains the names of so many who loved her and who were loved by her.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday, March 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will take place at Glad Tidings Church, 2460 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Wednesday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Paul Pattison officiating.
