1935 – 2011

Rita McMullen passed away peacefully after a brief struggle surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 75 years.

Survived by her beloved husband Len; sons, Lenny McMullen (Debbie) and Bill Westlake; daughters, Caron Soucy (Fred) and Cheryl Friars. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Sarah McMullen (Matthew Robinson), Jeff (Jenn) Westlake, Pamela (David) Merrick, Jeremy (Johanna) Simpson, Stacy Simpson (J.F. Ouellet), Bryce (Shannon) Westlake and Brianne Westlake. Great-grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, Kolby, Tia, Austin and Melissa. Also survived by brothers, Ivan Lamoureux (Terri), Fred Lamoureux (Velma) and Terrance (Ann) McMullen; sisters, Jean May (Dick) and Dagney McMullen and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers, Robert Lamoureux and Osie Lamoureux.

Mom was an inspiration to us all. She loved to play euchre, garden, country music and watching the hummingbirds.

Donations gratefully appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life for Rita was held on Monday, March 21, 2011. Ann White officiated.
