Shirley, (Bill) William Courtney - 49, born July 4, 1961, passed December 22 2010, in Laurel Place Hospice, Surrey B.C. Bill lived in Surrey BC with wife Rusty (Comeau) Shirley (Claire,NS). A Wake will be held in Yarmouth at a later date. Bill was the son of Kenneth Anthony Shirley (Pauline) and Dorothy Isabelle (Colbourne) Jacquard (Robert). Besides his parents, he leaves behind sisters Ruby Etheridge (Mark), Patti Samms and Ronda Doucette (Tracy), who all reside in Yarmouth, and Jacob Sagi (Nashville, Tennessee) who Bill considered his little brother, also to be included, is former wife, Charmaine Saulnier (Yarmouth) now living in BC. Bill was born in Tobique Valley Hospital, Plaster Rock, NB, where he lived until moving to Halifax/Darthmouth, then to Yarmouth where he completed high school and other educational courses. Bill worked at Dominion Textiles for many years on the night shifts and a Doorman at a local Restaurant/Bar. The last year before moving to BC, he took a Electronic Engineering Technician Course. He then hitch-hiked to BC, and was soon followed by wife Rusty. In B.C he worked for Steelhead, Danka, Conex, Digitel, Toshiba, Panasonic, then in 2010 worked for KoneCranes. While in Yarmouth he was passionate about his War Board Room, that he interacted with people from all over the Globe. He had many followers in his D & D get-togethers. He loved music and played his guitars with his close friends. Bill has also trained in Karate since the 1980's with instructors Milton Bourque (Chito-ryu) and Mario Ross (Shotokan). Then in BC, he continued at the Yoshukai International Karate with Mark n Shelley Hepburn. In this style he received his 1st black belt. Bill was cremated. You'll be missed by all of us and those who were yet to meet you.
