Fenton, Derek Murray David – 67, Truro, passed away March 23, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in England, he was a son of the late Murray Arnold and Gwendolyn Muriel Joan (Hellyar) Fenton. He was a welder by trade and devoted many years to it. He loved music and showed it by playing several instruments. As a single parent, his first ambition in life was to raise his only child, Darlene Hill (Duane Vance), Bass River; also surviving is grandsons, Russell and Austin and step-granddaughter, Brooke; brothers, Barry and Graham, both of Ontario; Malcolm (Helen), Truro; sisters, Sharon (Albert) Herbert, Moncton; Shirley Spencer and Christine Miller, both of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Theresa Russell. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288). No visitation or funeral service by request. Interment will be held at a later date in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche.
