It is with extreme sadness that I, Mary Madden, regret to announce the untimely death of my son, Paul Stephen Madden, at the young age of 43 years. Paul passed away at Lake Ridge Hospital in Oshawa, ON, following a brief but brave battle with cancer on Thursday, July 23, 2009, with his mother at his bedside and his love and best friend Sandra.
Paul left New Waterford at the age of 19 years and was employed as a carpenter throughout Ontario. His work can be seen in many places.
He was predeceased by his father, Luke Madden; uncle, Martin MacNeil and nephew, Riley Luke.
He is survived by his mother, Mary; sister, Shauna (Mike); brothers, Kevin (Jenny) and Brian (Cheryl); also by nephews, David, Stephen, Bracyn and Cooper. Also surviving is the love of his life, Sandra.
A memorial service for Paul took place in Oshawa, ON, with a large attendance of his closest and dearest friends.
Cremation has taken place in Oshawa. His remains will be put to rest with a private family service at home in Cape Breton under the direction McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford (862-7500).
