Charles Francis McCormack

Born In: Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia
Born: December 13th, 1945

Passed on: May 26th, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing, on May 26, 2017, of Frank McCormack, of North Bay, ON (formerly of Sydney Mines, NS).
Frank was born on December 13, 1945 in Sydney Mines, NS, the first son of Charles and Ethel MacCormick (MacNeil).
Left to celebrate his wonderful life are, his loving wife and life partner of 47 years, Anne Marie (nee--Keeling) of North Bay (formerly of Florence, NS); their children, Troy (wife Niki) of Virginia, USA; grandsons, Ethan, Tristan and Rylan, and their daughter, Tanya Dollar (husband Jeff) of Cambridge, ON, and granddaughters, Kealy and Reagan. Frank will also be dearly missed by sisters, Mary Ann MacCormick (husband Ken Cormier) of Sydney, NS, Catherine Collins (husband Dave) of Sydney Mines, and by his nieces and nephews. There will also be an empty place in the hearts of his buddies from “Knob Hill” where he was known as
‘Crown’ in his youth and with his friends and golf buddies at the Fox and Fiddle in North Bay.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ethel MacCormick, and by his brother, John MacCormick.
Growing up he was an altar boy, army cadet, and avid baseball player. He was a true Maple Leafs hockey fan and always loved a good round of golf. After attending Business College, he began his career with Trans Canada Credit in Nova Scotia. His work took him out west to Red Deer, Alberta and then to Sudbury before settling in North Bay, Ontario where he worked with Jutra Couriers until his retirement. Frank was a loyal Maple Leafs fan and had a passion for golf, but the true love of his life was his wife, Anne Marie.
Frankie’s friendly, out-going Cape Breton personality and big smile helped him make friends easily wherever he lived and worked. His sentimental and giving character saw him offer up his time freely for others and made him yearn, always, for news from home.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the friends who helped out and visited during Frank’s illness and to the wonderful staff at North Bay Hospital for their love and compassion.
A Mass to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at Pro Cathedral in North Bay on Tuesday, May 30 at 2 p.m., followed by a light lunch gathering of friends and family in the church hall, downstairs.
The family has asked donations be made in Frank’s memory, donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
Online condolences can be made through McGuinty Funeral Home in North Bay at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.
