It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Marie Roach, 88, at the Shannex Healthcare Facility at Celtic Court in Sydney, N.S. on May 22, 2017.
Born April 12, 1929, Anne worked as a Corporate Secretary at the Sydney Steel Corporation for 36 years. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. She had a green thumb and robust flower and vegetable gardens, which supplied her annual preserve making.
Anne is survived by her brothers, Henry J. and Fred; sisters, Selena (Joe Murphy), Sarah, Ellen (Colin R. MacDonald); numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Grace (Wilkie) Roach.
The family would like to send heartfelt thank you to the staff at Celtic Court for the excellent care they provided her. A special mention to all the neighbors who watched over her in Leitches Creek.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday June 6, 2017 at 11a.m. from the SW Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
