It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, Phyllis Marjorie Morrisey, 76 of Belmont on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her home. Born June 6, 1941 in Truro, NS. She was a daughter of the late Lewis and Estella (Gammon) MacLean. She is survived by her son, John “Wayne” Morrisey, Belmont; grandchildren, Benjamin Morrisey, Dartmouth; and Jennifer Morrisey, Truro; brother, John “Bub” MacLean, Onslow. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Morrisey, Belmont; sisters, Lillian “Lil” Hamilton and Mary Smith, both of Ontario; brother, Ainslie “Tiddly” MacLean, Bible Hill and sister, Patricia “Patty” MacLeod, Brentwood. She had been employed at the chick hatcheries in both Truro Heights and Debert for several years. She will be remembered as a loving, caring woman who enjoyed working outdoors on her flower gardens and inside caring for her many house plants. She was known for her smiling face, welcoming hospitality and her love for her family. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Crossroads Cemetery, Belmont. Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
