SKINNER, Ruby - In her 95th year, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 after a brief period of compassionate palliative care at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Ruby raised four children, Allan (Norma), Garry (Margaret), Wendy (Bobbi) and Tom who predeceased her, working nearly 40 years on the factory floor and teaching them honesty and the value of hard work. Ruby asked for nothing and gave all she could, leaving this world with the love, respect and gratitude of her family. Her greatest joy was experiencing being a great-grandmother and we will keep Nanny's memory alive for her two wee girls, Stella and Nora. Ruby was one of nine Winters children and was predeceased by all but Garnet and Lillian (McLeod) whose regular calls added joy to her final years. Special thanks to the medical staff at the QCH, Emergency and A.C.E, who made Mom comfortable in her final days and to all at Chartwell's Stonehaven Manor who made the residence a home that Mom so appreciated. Following Cremation, family and friends will gather at St. Francis de Sales Church, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Lung Association will be appreciated by the family.
