DENNIS DOYLE

Passed on: April 7th, 2011

DOYLE, DENNIS PAUL
March 18, 1949 - April 7, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Doyle, beloved husband of Colleen Doyle of Calgary, at the age of 62 years. Besides his loving wife, Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his children: Alison (Brad), Derrick (Pam), and Alanna; son-in-law Andrew; grandchildren: Jaxson and Phoenix; brothers Francis (Jo), Patrick, Floyd (Louise), Mario (Ev) & Kelly (Terri); sisters: Kathleen (Perry) and Elaine (Murray); mother and father-in-law Marjorie and Blair Webster; sisters-in-law: Heather, Karen (Dale), Holly (Gary) and Krista (Brad); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Kristin, parents Joe and Eileen Doyle, and brother Lawrence. Dennis grew up on 'the farm' outside of Moose Jaw, SK, where he lived until moving to Alberta in 1969. In his youth, he favoured math and science, and excelled at whatever sport he pursued. He completed his degree in petroleum technology at SAIT in Calgary, and received his CET designation in 1977. In 1970 he married his wife, Colleen, and the two laid their roots in Calgary, where they raised their four children. Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed reading and learning new things, particularly in engineering, history, and geography, always with the company of Marty Robbins, or another 'quality' artist in the background. A jack of all trades, Dennis loved working with his hands, and always had a project on the go, from refurbishing his 1952 International truck to building the family furniture. At leisure, he was content going for 'a drive' and taking in the rural scenery, or talking into the night with friends or family. Early farm life fostered a strong work ethic in Dennis, which he cultivated in his children from an early age. The diversity of their pursuits, from sports to science to music, and the successes they have achieved in their lives are a credit to Dennis and to his wife. He will be deeply missed by his friends and extended family, by his wife and children, and by his grandchildren, whom he loved with a quiet, playful affection. Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm. To email expressions of sympathy: mountainview@arbormemorial.com Subject heading: Dennis Doyle.
