It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Cletus O'Brien (age 75) passed peacefully away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Amelia O'Brien. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife Patsy; his daughter Tina in Jasper, Alberta; his sons John and Jason; his daughter-in-law Angie; his pride and joy, grandson Jesse; his sister Mary; his brother-in-law Larry Mills; his mother-in-law Annie Power (Bay Bulls); his brother-in-law Fred (Marie) Power; and his sisters-in-law, Mary McCarthy, Jeanette (Ed) Dowden, Dianne Carter and Elizabeth (Leo) Dinn. Cletus also leaves behind many special cousins, who were his friends and neighbours: Patrick and Carm O'Driscoll, Andrew and Cecilia O'Driscoll, Gerald O'Driscoll, Brian O'Driscoll, Marie Power, Andrew and Dot O'Brien (Cape Broyle), Kevin O'Brien, Michael O'Brien, Keith O'Brien and Donna Martin. Special thanks to the many friends and family who visited or called Cletus during his illness. Cletus worked for many years as a caretaker at St. Patrick's Elementary School and at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Bay Bulls. He also served as a caretaker for the Sisters of Mercy Convent. Cletus was a friend to many and was ready to help anyone in need. He had a quick wit that would certainly make you smile and he had the ability to make you laugh with a good story or a joke. Cletus was also very determined, which was quite evident in how he handled his illness. His love for his family and friends kept him going and it is the love of his family and friends that will keep his memory alive. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Monday and Tuesday from 3-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Bay Bulls at 10 am on Wednesday, June 21. Cremation to follow and burial to take place at a later date at Our Lady of Mount Loretta R.C. Cemetery. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church.
