
Les Kehler
Kehler: Leslie Melvin Kehler, age 71, of Waldeck, Sk., passed away on April 6, 2011 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, Sk. Funeral Service was held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with John Duncan officiating. The Life Tribute was read by Alvin Kehler. Pallbearers were, Harry Cornelson, Otto Zacharias, Darcy Cornelson, Leroy Martens, Justin Kehler and Samantha Kehler. The Interment Service took place at Hillcrest Cemetery. Les is survived by his mother Helen Doerksen; son Wendell and Roxanne Kehler; grandchildren Justin Kehler and Samantha Kehler; sisters Leona and Harry Cornelson; Elsie and Otto Zacharias; brother Alvin and Lori Kehler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Henry Kehler and grandson Andrew Kehler. Les was born on October 14, 1939 at Glen Kerr on the family farm. He attended the Main Centre and Lady Bank Schools. Les owned and operated Les's Trailer Hauling from 1971-2002. He was well known as the guy to call if you had to get a trailer into a tight spot. He retired from this work and parked his truck with more than two million miles on it. He went to drive at Delta Rock and Sand in 2003 and finally retired in 2009. Les enjoyed rodeos and hockey both watching and participating. As a child he was a member of the 4-H club in Main Centre and played hockey for Main Centre and Stewart Valley. Les also served on the Herbert Stampede Committee of many years. He will be sadly missed but fondly remember by his family and friends.
