MURPHY, Deborah Ann (Debbie, Deb and Nan) passed away at home with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on June 24, 2017. Deb was born May 17, 1952 in Sydney C.B. After her dad, Robert Hardy passed at a young age the family moved to Yarmouth. Deb is survived by her mother Cora and step-dad Alyre Comeau. Deb loved singing, dancing, and when not with her children-students as a teacher’s assistant with the Tri-County Regional School Board, Deb loved being home having our grandchildren visit, walking and enjoying life to the fullest. Deb is survived by husband, Terry; sons, Craig and Joanne Crosby, Trevor and Trish Crosby; step-daughters, Tracey and Troy Crowell and Shauna Murphy; grandchildren, Madison and Emilie Crosby, Jasmine Muise, Jennifer and Jayden Crosby; step grandchildren, Michael Murphy-Jane, Kristen and Tyler Murphy; sisters, Elaine Hardy and Shelia and Emile Hachey; and brother, Robert and Tammy Hardy. Deb was predeceased by her sister, Linda Warner. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tom Baxter and his wonderful secretaries along with the staff in Oncology, Dr. Riley and Paula Watkins of palliative care, the V.O.N. and Tri-County Home Care, your gentle kindness will always be cherished and remembered. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held on Wednesday June 28, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, after which cremation took place. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. June 30, 2017 at Yarmouth North Baptist Church, 8 Elm St., Rev. Bill Newell and Rev Shawn Kehoe officiated. Interment followed at Mountain Cemetery on Parade St. After the service all were welcome to attend a reception at Yarmouth North Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund and to the local Chapter of the V.O.N.
