David G. Turner
It is with genuine sadness that we the family announce the passing of our brother, David G. Turner, 67, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on June 25, 2017.
David was born in Glace Bay, to the late Samuel and Esther Turner.
He is survived by his siblings, Carl (Betty), Roberta, Myrna, Donna, Joan, and Linda (Jim); he was predeceased by Sam and Delores.
David was a longtime resident at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, (Miner’s Lane) where he received first rate attention and happily called it “Home”. An avid Blue Jay fan, he mused many with his impressive knowledge of the team’s players and history. In earlier years he enjoyed the airwaves company of fellow ham radio enthusiasts. For many years, he was a kidney dialysis patient at both the CBRH, Sydney and North Sydney units, and was transported to those locations by EHS Ground Ambulance Services all for which he was truly appreciative. David always talked about his nieces and nephews with special fondness for the youngest, Genevieve and Xavier.
Funeral arrangements as per his direction have been entrusted to the T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist. Cremation has taken place. A private interment service will be held at a later date.
