Victor Paul DeBay
May 7, 1945 – June 29, 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family announce the sudden passing of Victor Paul DeBay. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Stewart and Lillian (Sharpe) DeBay. Victor built and spent his life in Brentwood, NS. Victor was a die-hard Leafs fan and sportsman. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and went on many hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. He helped coach Little League baseball with his youngest son, Doug and coached his grandson, Charles during his years of junior curling. He played baseball and played/coached the Brentwood Flyers Hockey Team in the Brookfield Men’s League for many years. Victor was an electrician by trade and before retirement, he worked at the Colchester Regional Hospital for 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley (Johnson); sons, Paul, at home, Doug (Lisa Myatt), Candy Mtn. Rd.; daughter, Deborah (Dana) Works, Brentwood; grandchildren, Charles (Laurel) DeBay, Lower Truro, James Works, CFB Gagetown, Aaron and Connor DeBay, Candy Mtn. Rd.; Sarah DeBay, Moncton, Victoria Works, Brentwood; his special little girl and great granddaughter, Briella Prosser, Brentwood; brother, Charlie (Edie), Petitcodiac, NB; sister, Barb (Arnie) Ramsey, Ontario.
Along with his parents, Victor was predeceased by daughter, Tracey in infancy; grandparents, James and Mary (Maynard) DeBay and Charles and Lydia (Grono) Sharpe.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro from where Visitation will be held Monday evening, July 3 from 6-8pm and Funeral Service Tuesday, July 4 at 2pm, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only.
