Crocker, Elizabeth Elaine “Betty”, of Falmouth and Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tom” and Madelyn (Robinson) Haley. Betty worked at Eatons, Sears and Scotia Bank, but found her passion for Real Estate with Minas Realities. She was recognized for beginning the first Ladies Auxiliary of the Windsor Fire Dept. 1958-2008. Betty was also a member of the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for many years. In later years, she enjoyed playing music on the piano at her home and Dykeland Lodge. Our world has been changed forever with the passing of our little Mom – Betty Crocker. Small and Feisty, and fiercely independent, she did things her way on the 4th of July, 2017. She passed peacefully after enjoying a long and happy life. She will be remembered for her huge smile and kind heart. Always taking in stray animals or any strangers she’d chance to meet. True to her name, she was always feeding everyone, jam, pickles, squares and her famous blueberries. “Walkers” restaurant became her second home. She loved taking “coffee breaks” with the staff and her friends there, who became like a second family to her. Her smile lit up the room especially when she had a story to tell or a joke to share. The family would like to send special thanks to the Elms, who cared for our Mom so lovingly during her stay. Also our thanks to the Hants Community Hospital Staff for their wonderful care during Mom’s many visits. Betty is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Richard) Dauphinee, Three Mile Plains; Susan (Andy) Currie, West Brooklyn, Kings Co.; son, Mitchell (May) Crocker, Hantsport; adopted daughter, Shirley Morrison, Westmount, Cape Breton; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother, Frederick “Ted” Crocker, Falmouth. Special aunt to Christine (David) Bezanson and Tom (Sherri) Lutz. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John “Jack” Crocker (2010); sister, Gwendolyn Lutz; sister-in-law, Jean Crocker. Visitations was held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0.
