Andrew Palmer was born April 30, 1919, in New Chelsea, Newfoundland Labrador, to Ronald and Cassandra Palmer, passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home in St. John’s on Saturday April 09, 2011 at the age of 91, as his children and grandchildren sang, “When they ring those golden bells.” At a very early age, he felt a call to serve his best friend Jesus in ministry to people all over the province of Newfoundland Labrador. Pastor and Mrs. Palmer spent more than 30 years in his ministry, which touched the lives of so many people. He is predeceased by his loving and beautiful wife Hazel Maud, his precious daughter Sylvia, his loving son Raymond, parents Ronald and Cassandra Palmer. Left to mourn his wonderful life are his children Evelyn (Wilson) Quinton, Muriel (Barry) Budgell, Lloyd (Yvonne), Alvin (Elena), Marie (Tony) Ryan, Ted (Susan), Barbara, Brenda (Paul) Perry. Also left to mourn his passing are twenty-one grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 12th; and at 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13th. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 13th at Caul’s Funeral Chapel. The service will be conducted by Pastor T. Paul Perry with tributes and music by members of Pastor Palmer’s family. Caul’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with care and funeral arrangements. Graveside service will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland-Labrador.
