George Raymond Graham - 78, of Durham, passed away on July 8th 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Raymond was born in Rockfield and was a son of the late George and Viola Graham. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane (MacLean); sons, Douglas (Belinda), Andrew (Carla) and Stephen; 5 cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Tanya, Felicia, Rachael and Keegan; sisters, Helen MacDougall, Phyllis Fredin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd; brothers-in-law, Pete MacDougall and Ken Fredin. Raymond retired from the Scotsburn Co-Op and was a member of the West River (Durham) Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, a member of the choir and the men’s club. He was also a member of the Heart and Stroke association. Raymond and Diane enjoyed old time dances, walks, the outdoors and de Coste concerts. With his sons he enjoyed the spring ritual of producing maple syrup and cutting the winter’s wood. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held 2 PM Wednesday from West River Presbyterian Church, Durham with Rev. Mary Ann Grant officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery with reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the West River Presbyterian Church.
