On Monday, July 31, 2017 the Lord called our precious Mother home to rest.
She leaves behind to mourn her loving husband of 59 years, Kevin James Penney; her children, Kevin (Cathy), Edwardsville, Sonya (David), Athabasca, Vincent (Kim), Cold Lake, Rhonda (Darrell), Howie Centre and Christina (Murad) Lachine. She is also survived by her sister, Carole (Benny), Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Robert (Beatrice), St. Peter’s, Donald – Bud (Linda), Truro, as well as 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, and beloved Aunt Ruby Monroe.
Besides her parents, Roberta is predeceased by sisters, Bernie (Gerald) Thorneycroft, Mary Sanford, Joan Hill and Charlotte MacDonald (Alan), and brother, Frederick, Winnipeg.
Visitation for Roberta will take place Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Life to take place Thursday, August 3 at 11 a.m. both from the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Rev. Michael Morrison and Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
