Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the presence of his loving family. Retired employee of the Wabush Lake Railway. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Jean Barnes; infant twin brother Duncan, and brother Bruce; sisters: Jessie Strong, Jean Day and Ruth MacKenzie. Left with fond and loving memories his loving wife Audrey (Hollett) of 62 years; daughter Judy Ford (Phil McCarthy); son Brian (Jocelyn); grandchildren: Krista Fischer (Curtis), Jennifer Ford and Allison Ford, Amy Husk (Chris), Christopher Barnes (Jonathan Veinot), and Stephen Barnes (Tiffany); great-grandchildren: Will and Lily Fischer, and Damian and Blair Husk; brother Leslie; sister Joan; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Friday, August 4th, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service from Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, August 5th, at 11 am.
