CONRAD (Johnson) Olga Marie Dec 26, 1928 – Aug 3, 2017- Mum was born ‘back in the woods’ in Torbrook and grew to be an intelligent, independent woman. She spent her working years in Toronto before she and dad retired to the Greenwood area. After dad died, she moved several times before settling in Halifax and later to the South Shore. She conducted meticulous research, producing a comprehensive genealogical record of the family, an undertaking that sparked her interest and love for Ireland which she visited on many occasions. In addition to her interest in genealogy, mum actively supported the merchant navy service men in their efforts to gain recognition and veterans’ benefits. She read extensively, produced beautiful knitting and cross-stitch pieces, and lent a helping hand to many. Olga was the daughter of the late Almon Chester and Alice Jane Judge; she was predeceased by husband Milton St. Clair Conrad, and loving son Milton Arthur (Sue). Olga will be missed by daughters, Margaret Jorgenson (Robert) of Elliot Lake ON and Linda Conrad (Gerry Naito) of Vernon BC, and daughter-in-law Sue of St. Catharines, ON. She was grandmother to Jennifer Burgess (Gary) and Jessica Williams (Chris) and great-grandmother to Nicholas, Emma, Ethan, Lucas, and Avery, all of St. Catharines, ON. Olga was predeceased by siblings Allison, Orme, Addison, Philip, Olive, and Ada. Very special thanks to our many cousins and their spouses who visited our mum over the years and who supported us during this difficult time. Thanks also to staff at Harbour View Haven for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. There wasl no service at mum’s request. An announcement will be published for internment at a future date at Torbrook Mines Cemetery. Those desiring, memorial donations in Olga’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice through the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg.
