Willard Sears

SEARS, Willard George – 56, Woods Harbour, passed away at home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Born April 25, 1961, he was the son of Blanchard and Louise (Hunt) Sears. Willard was a loving father, grandfather, brother, husband, uncle and friend. He was hard working and a smart business man, spending his whole life on the water. He veered away from the water at times, opening a fish market, driving a transport and in his last years running a successful broker business. Willard was well known and well-liked by everyone he crossed paths with. At the end of the day, one thing was for sure, he loved his kids and grandkids. They were his world and he made sure they knew it. He was always welcoming people into his home and he helped people when they needed it; he would give the shirt off his back. Willard is survived by his wife, Audrey Sears; son, Willard Sears Jr. (Sarah), Pembroke; daughter, Deborah Hazlett (Stephen), Yarmouth; brothers, Eugene Sears, Sable River; Morton Sears (Cathy), Melbourne; Garth Sears, Yarmouth; sisters, Dale Nickerson (Calvin), Shag Harbour; Diane Smith (Chris), Yarmouth; Loretta Nickerson (Alpheus), Barrington; Mina Black, Ontario; grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Ryker, Blake; and several niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. There was a funeral held on Saturday, August 12, at 2 p.m. in the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Stanley Devine officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Woods Harbour. It has been requested there be family flowers. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the IWK Foundation.
