Allen Brown
August 6, 1944 – August 12, 2017
Allen John Brown was born to Doreen and John Brown, August 6, 1944 in Prince Albert, SK. The oldest of four children, Allen grew up in Prince Albert attending Prince Charles and Riverside schools. He married Shirley Bessette in June of 1965 and they had two children, Randy and Brigitte. Then in 1971, he married Trudie Steepe in Prince Albert and they had one son, Shawn. Allen worked at PA Pulpwood and then Weyerhaeuser Canada, where he retired in 2003. Allen was presently working for the Highway Traffic Board. Allen bred and raced thoroughbred horses and enjoyed cooking and computer work. He loved playing with his grandchildren. He was an active member of AA’s and was involved with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Allen will be lovingly remembered by his ex-wife and best friend Trudie; his children Randy, Brigitte (Billy) Ferguson, Shawn (Janine Kennedy); 15 grandchildren, Renée, Ashley, Patrick, Mikayla, Matthew, Kelsey, Shaelin, Sierra, Bailey, Bella, Porter, Morgan, Obsidian, Carter and Miller; 3 great grandchildren, Lucas, Lily and Jesse; his mother Ruby “Doreen”; his brothers Donald (Edna) and Herbert (Lana) from Mission, BC; his aunt Mildred Moore and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Allen was predeceased by his father John Brown; his brother Arnold; several aunts, uncles, grandparents and a nephew. Four words to describe Allen: caring, thoughtful, passionate and persistent. A Viewing will be held Thursday August 17, 2017 from 7:00pm – 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Both services will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at a Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
