Donald Jerry Silvea, " The Dude", 70 of Amherst passed away on Saturday, August 12, at 1:45 a.m. at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Born on June 13, 1947 in Springhill, he was the son of the late late Robert & Bertha (Hatfield) Silvea.
Donald liked car drives playing darts, 649 & lotto Max tickets, playing cards, spending time with his grandchildrenand grocery shopping. He enjoyed watching game shows, Judge Judy and Nancy Grace.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Silvea (nee Cain) , two daughters, Joan Silvea and Nichole Silvea; his granddaughters Tamara Silvea and Olivia Silvea; his grandson, Izaya Silvea, his son in law Billy Embree; sisters, Darlene of Montreal, Lillian of Oxford, Gloria of Springhill, Barbara of Hamilton, Marilyn of of Toronto, Lorraine of Hamilton, Carrie of Hamilton, Joan of Amherst; his brothers, Ralph of Vancouver, John of Toronto, Herbie of Springhill, Maynard of Hamilton, Bobby of Amherst; many nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Charles Silvea, sister, Joyce, brothers, Ronnie, Bob & Kenny.
Arrangements are under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS. There will be no funeral service by request. The family will be holding a celebration of life at their home , 158 A Willow St., Amherst on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 3 - 6 p.m. where friends can come to share memories and say their good byes.
