Mary Elizabeth (Munroe) Forbes  -87, passed away August 20, 2017 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. 
Born July 23, 1930 at East Branch, Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Murray) Munroe. 
Mary is survived by her husband, Billie Forbes, Pictou; daughters, Ann Stewart (Terry), Tisdale, SK.; Shirley Forbes, Abercrombie; son, John, Haliburton; sister, Dolly Battist, Pictou; brother, John, Amherst; brother-in-law, Malcolm (Elizabeth), Arizona; sister-in-law, Jean Filla, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Garding, Tisdale, SK.; Ashley Patterson (Matt), Tisdale, SK.; Marley Murray (Tom), Ottawa, ON.; Kevin Forbes, Pictou; great-grandsons, Justin and Connor Garding, Tisdale, SK.; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Munroe. 
There will be no visitation by request. A private family funeral will be held in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, with Jacquie Ross officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn.
