Thomas “Bud” CLARKE
October 24, 1925 – August 22, 2017

Thomas (Bud) Clarke passed away Tuesday Aug. 22, 2017 in his 92nd year. He was born in Cupar, Sask and moved to Bladworth, SK as an infant where he spent his childhood. Bud served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII as a Leading Aircraftsman. After the war, he held a few jobs finally settling in Prince Albert in the early 1950’s where he was employed with STC as a driver. It was at STC that he met the love of his life Heather (Bendle) and they married soon after. After 20 years with STC and 3 children later, Bud left STC to pursue other career opportunities and eventually formed Clarke Appraisals which he operated until his retirement. Bud was active in the community being a Kiwanian and a Mason. He enjoyed curling, skiing and other sports but his real passion was for golf. He was a member of Cooke Municipal Golf Course for many, many years with several Holes in One and ‘birdies and eagles’ under his belt. He and Heather shared their love of golf and spent many winters at Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Bud enjoyed having “Coffee with the Boys” over the years and valued his friendships. He was a man of few words with a dry sense of humour and easy- going manner. He was always a very patriotic and proud Canadian and instilled his love of our country in his children. He is predeceased by his wife Heather in 2011, his parents Percy and Eva Clarke, his in-laws Ross and Ruby Bendle and his only sibling, his sister Iona Elliott. He is survived by his children Donna Bodnar (Myron) of Rocky Mt House, Ab, Greg (Lyla) of Prince Albert, Bev Theakston (John) of Barrie, On; grandchildren Erin Bodnar (Casey), Teri Moore (Mike), Tom Bodnar (Alison), Greg Bodnar, Elizabeth Clarke (Steve), Graeme Clarke (Becky), Mark St.Germain (Keeley), Evan Theakston (Jennifer): great-grandchildren Hudson and Zennon Moore, Cole St.Germain; sister -in-law and brother -in-law Tom and Fern Ivester and their children Tom and Hollie as well as his 2 special nieces Lynda Hauca (Mel) and Lorna Miller (Wayne). A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, with lunch to follow. In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
