It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Gerard Anthony Lewis, age 55, at home on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Archie and Eleanor (Bond) Lewis.
He was employed with the Mental Health Department at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
He was a great cook and a gun enthusiast. He was quiet man, who will be missed by all who knew him.
Gerard is survived by his wife, Denise (Gilmet) Lewis; son, Justin Haley, Sydney Mines; brothers, John, Danny and David, and their families; sister, Virginia and her family.
He is also survived by his extended family, mother and father-in-law, Bernadette and Calvin Gilmet; sister-in-law, Leigh Ann; brother-in-law, Bernie, and their families, as well as his four legged companions, Maggie, Shelby and Daisy.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
