It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecilia Companion announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Sunday September 3, 2017 at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with loving memories, her children: Brenda Hann (Bob) and Brian Companion (Pamela); grandchildren: Rob Hann (Carol Ann), John Hann (Rosalyn), Doug Hann (Glenda), Chris Companion (Rachel Abbott) and Lisa Companion (Nathan Blanchard); great-grandchildren: Wendy Stewart, Jonathan Stewart, John Hann Jr., and Charlie Blanchard; great-great-grandchildren: Sophie and Owen Lavers; sisters: Rita Hall Mendes, Susan Hillier (Billy McLean), and Rose Morgan (Dave); brothers: Gordon Young (Kay) and Wally Young; sisters-in-law: Lucy Young, Jean Wheeler and Rhodena Loder; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Jack on June 29, 2016; daughters: Mary and Jacqueline; sisters: Teresa Radford (Tim), Annie Perrier (Fred), Kay Brockway (Bert), Marie Jesso, and Marian Cheater (Tom); brothers: Walter Young (Mary), Edward Young (Alice) and John Young; sisters-in-law: Dinah Young, Leona Parsons (Arthur), Mae Brake (Foster); brothers-in-law: Joe Hall, John Mendes, Abram Hillier, Will Companion (Annie), George Companion (Teresa), Harold Companion (Nina), Fred Companion (Mabel), Eric Companion (Elvie), Joel Wheeler, and Bill Loder. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, Curling Street on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11.00 AM with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to a charity of one's choice.
