Clara Craig

Passed on: September 3rd, 2017

Clara died peacefully at home on September 3 at the age of 101. She was born in 1916 at Hodgeville, SK to Phillip and Caroline Straub. The family moved to the Tuxford area where she attended school and met her future husband, Neil Craig. They were married in 1941 and farmed in the Marquis and Tuxford areas. She moved to Regina in 2007 to be closer to family and was still living on her own until her death. Clara was predeceased by husband Neil, daughter-in-law Darlene; brothers Ed and Charlie and sisters Caroline, Lily, Esther and Anna. She is survived by children and spouses: Bill (Heather), Jim (Marilyn), Les (Cathy), Ken (Carol) and Diane Moore; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a great great grandchild on the way; sister Vi Whetstone and several nieces and nephews. With death comes memories and there are many; the delicious meals brought out to the field at harvest, the hand knit sweaters and afghans, the smile on her face when the Scrabble game appeared and anyone who came home to see Mom, Grandma or GG always left with a few dozen of her infamous chocolate chip cookies. Mom was sure she would be reunited with Dad and they are no doubt enjoying heaven's dance floor. Rest well Mom, we'll miss you. Respecting Mom's wishes, there will not be a funeral. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. In living memory of Clara a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
