Edna TURNER
February 17, 1931 - August 28, 2017
Mom was the oldest of 10 siblings growing up in the 1930’s. Life was difficult for her family back then and she worked hard to keep her brothers and sisters safe. Mom, Delores, Gladys, Clarence, Roger, Shirley, Evelyn, Marlene, Corinne and finally Richard. Mom moved to Prince Albert and met a dashing young man who she married on January 31st, 1953. Together they raised their family and built the house they live in today. Mom and Dad had the most amazing lakefront property on Christopher Lake which we were so fortunate to enjoy for years until their health would no longer allow. Mom would whip up meals on that 2 burner propane stove in the early days that would rival the best restaurants around. Mom worked at Saskatchewan Government Telephones in the early 60’s and after 19 years decide to switch careers and dabble in Real Estate. Her health forced her to resign after a few years. Mom loved to travel and she and dad visited Hawaii 26 times. She also had a great sense of humour and an uncanny ability to point out every restaurant and what their best meal is…in just about every city. Mom also had her own language at times and was a very fast talker. People often had a hard time understanding “momish”. She had a huge and generous heart but could be as tough as nails if she chose to. Mom is survived by her husband Stan, the love of her life for 64 years and 8 months; her children Laurie (Milan) Kolosa, Brad (Susan)Turner, Wendy(Don) Fyrk; her grandchildren Devon (Jamie) Kolosa, Brett (Carla) Kolosa, Lacey (Dale) Heppner, Kyle Turner and Donny Fyrk as well as 8 great grandchildren; four sisters Gladys, Shirley Marlene and Corinne and brothers Clarence and Richard; her longtime friends Ethel and Don Anderson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Marie Broten as well as her sisters Delores and Evelyn and her brother Roger. Mom, you are one of a kind and our lives will be forever changed without you. You taught us how to love to be strong and believe in ourselves. As per Mom’s wishes, no services will be held. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
