It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Doreen Sparrow, age 65, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Mrs. Loretta (Deveaux) Sparrow and the late Joseph Sparrow.
Doreen was the life of the party, the social butterfly, loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed having visitors at the house, listening to music, reading a good book, collecting butterflies and watching mass for shut-ins. Doreen enjoyed dressing up for each holiday and getting into the spirit.
Doreen is survived by her mother, Loretta; her sisters, Starla (Cecil), Joanne (Fabian); brothers, Cecil, Joey (Donna), Kelly (Iris), Colin (Bonnie); sister-in-law, Denise; many nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved four legged companion, J.J.
Besides her father, Joseph, she was predeceased by her twin sister in infancy, Noreen; brothers, Gerry and Maney.
The family would like to send a special thank you to all the workers at the New Waterford Homemakers, for all their care and compassion given to Doreen for the past five years.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
