Sam Simpson, 59, of Gibsons, BC passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie, three children, Melissa (Craig), Aimee (Brandon), Blake, and six grandchildren. Also survived by his mother, Erma and two sisters, Kathleen (Mike) and Joni (Mario) and three nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James.
Sam was born on January 26, 1958 in Port Alberni, BC to Erma and James Simpson. He graduated from National College of Chiropractic in Illinois and came to the Sunshine Coast to establish a chiropractic practice in 1987.
In 2007 Sam became a Notary Public and found deep satisfaction serving his community in both roles. He was a past President of the Gibsons Rotary club and most recently served as Assistant Governor of the Sunshine Coast Rotary clubs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017. A Facebook event page (Celebration of Life for Sam Simpson) has been set up with further information and to RSVP.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rotary International or the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society.
