STEPHEN PARKER MACQUEEN

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Parker MacQueen, on Sept. 21, 2017.
Born April 10, 1945, he was the son of the late George and Mary MacQueen (Steele). He was formerly of Dutch Brook and made his home in Louisbourg.
Parker was an avid baker, gardener, and shopper. He was always ready to make everyone laugh and smile with his entertaining stories and jokes.
Parker was survived by his wife, Ada; his daughter, Kelly Young (Vance), Marion Bridge; son, Jason, Sydney; step-son, Robert, Alaska; step-daughters, Linda and Diane (Sean) Ontario; six grandchildren, Paige, Logan, Allysha, Michael, Jesse and Jordan.
He is also survived by his brothers, Grant (Brenda), Lakeside, NB, Gary (Natalie) Sydney River and sisters, Gail Muise, Halifax, Ruth Ferguson (Ewen) Prime Brook, Sharon Prince (Terry) Dutch Brook; and brother-in-law, Earl Publicover, Ontario; along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Stephen; infant sister, Mary Sharon; sister, Marilyn Publicover and brother-in-law, Alexander (Sandy) Muise.
Visitation will take place Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
A Celebration of Parker’s Life will take place immediately following, at 7:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
Family flowers only. Instead, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
