Clayton Johnson

Johnson, Clayton Norman- Barrington, passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital, with his daughters by his side, on Wednesday, September 20. 2017 at the age of 71. Clayton was born on October 14, 1945 at Bruce’s Nursing Home in Shelburne . He was a kind, generous and compassionate man who had a deep faith in God. In his early career he taught Industrial Arts at Lockeport Regional High School. Prior to his retirement, he ran a successful contracting business. He had a passion for woodworking and carpentry. Clayton enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing laughs, playing cards or board games as well as watching baseball. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Clayton is survived by his mother, Irma, Shelburne; his daughters, Darla (Jody) Nickerson, Barrington; Dawn ( Dean) Atkinson, Barrington; his grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Nickerson; Brett and Fayth Atkinson; siblings, Allen (Diane), Pictou; Patricia Darling, Shelburne; Linda (Bruce) Thomas, Thomasville; Michael (Darlene), Halifax; Mary (Alex)Bower, Jordan Bay; Robert (Catharine), Halifax; and Barbara of Upper Tantallon and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Norman, and wife, Janice (Cotter). Visitation was held on Friday, September 29 from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne where the Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday at 2p.m. with Pastor Wayne Dooks officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to: Agape Café Youth Center, Barrington. The family would like to thank the staff of both the Yarmouth and Roseway Hospitals for their care of Clayton during his illness.
